Constant motion is the mission of the motorcycles in our touring line. When the first Harley rolled out of Milwaukee, it didn't take long to realise that here was one of the best travelling companions a restless spirit could ask for. It also didn't take long to realise that there would be ways to make the trip even better. A little comfort. A place to secure some gear. The touring machine that feels so good today could only have resulted from all the years and miles in-between. Time spent riding, experimenting and carefully evolving the ultimate travelling machine.

Central to the experience is the twin cam 88 engine. Now in its third year, it was already a road-hardened veteran when we introduced it. With over 2 1/2 million miles of road testing. It's strong, tight, reliable and hungry for every kind of mile.

More than that, you see its classic lines exposed at the centre of the bike's design. You hear it rumbling out of the pipes. You feel its steady beat, urging you on. The constant presence of a Harley-Davidson big twin is like nothing else on the wide open road.

Good as we made the twin cam 88, our touring frame makes s it better. The engine rides in rubber isolation mounts, so the vibrations from two massive cylinders of internal combustion don't reach the rider. The self-centring steering and low, stable centre of gravity make everything from long motorway miles to tight in-town turns easier. We include air-adjustable suspension, further adding to a plush ride. And four-piston caliper brakes, so the stopping is as smooth and progressive as going.

And we're still finding room for improvement. New this year is a sophisticated factory-installed security system, available as standard*. We expect it to be popular with touring riders, knowing how you value your ride. We've redesigned the gear box, making neutral easier to find and each shift as smooth as silk. And to motorcycling's best sound system, we've added even better sounding speakers.

The improvements don't have to stop there. With genuine motor accessories you can add comfort, flash, or even more power. Just like the direction you choose heading out of town, it's entirely up to you.
